Published: 2010-10-20

BROKEN ARROW - Northeastern State University Career Services will host the Fall 2010 Teacher Fair on Tuesday, Nov. 2, in the second floor ballroom of Building A on the Broken Arrow campus. Due to the down economy, NSU Career Services is waiving the registration fee for this event. Registration is open through Oct. 25.

NSU Career Services is a student-centered department that empowers students and alumni to fulfill their career aspirations by providing the life long career skills necessary in finding and acquiring employment opportunities. Career Services strives to build partnerships with school districts in our surrounding communities.

The Teacher Fair provides an opportunity for our education majors to meet one-on-one with school districts to discuss employment opportunities, said Gayle Anderson, Career Services coordinator. Recruiters will discuss the types of teaching careers and vacancies within their entity and the required qualifications. Graduate schools will also be available to answer questions regarding application requirements. Attendees should come dressed for success and bring plenty of resumes.

During the open forum, school representatives will have the opportunity to meet with potential employees and discuss employment opportunities from 10-11:30 am. A break for lunch is provided from 11:30 a.m. to noon, after which, the formal interviewing process will commence. Students and alumni wishing to participate in the interviewing process must attend the open forum to receive an interview time.

Currently registered participants include Bartlesville Public Schools, Boston Mountain Education Co-Op, Broken Arrow Public Schools, Community Action Project - Early Childhood Program, Fort Gibson Public Schools, Great Expectations, Locust Grove Public Schools, Muskogee Public Schools, North Texas Teacher Job Network Region 10 (Dallas Area), Northeastern State University Graduate College, Oklahoma Education Association, Okmulgee Public Schools, OSU-Tulsa Graduate Services, Ponca City Public Schools, Professional Oklahoma Educators, Sapulpa Public Schools, Shawnee Public Schools and Wichita Public Schools.
