(Tahlequah, Okla.) Restaurant professional Tony R. Henry will deliver the Battenfield-Carletti Distinguished Entrepreneur Lecture at Northeastern State University on Wednesday, August 31, at 10 a.m. in the Webb Center Auditorium. The lecture will be followed by a Q&A session at approximately 11 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Henry, who attended NSU from 1988-90, has more than 13 years experience as president or shareholder of Oklahoma restaurants including Wolfgang Puck Bistro, Oklahoma Joes BBQ, Full Moon Caf, In The Raw Sushi and Rave Review Catering Company. He also has 10 years experience with night clubs such as Ivey Lounge in Tulsa and SKKYBAR Ultra Lounge in Oklahoma Citys Bricktown district. His company also manages the beverage operations for Brady Theater and Diamond Ballroom.

Henry is a certified public accountant who began his professional career with Coopers & Lybrand in 1992. He later joined Flint Industries, Inc. as director of internal audit. Henry has also served as President and COO for Nameplates, Inc. Today, he directs the daily operations of several restaurant entities employing nearly 400 full-time and part-time staff. His priorities are to ensure that his brands continue to lead the industry in product quality, exceptional service and operational systems.

Established in 2002 through the NSU Foundation by Dr. Harold Battenfield and Dr. John Carletti, the Battenfield-Carletti Distinguished Entrepreneur Lecture Series invites two NSU alumni entrepreneurs each year to speak to students on the Tahlequah campus. The purpose of the lecture series is to demonstrate to NSU students the ways in which successful entrepreneurs identify new opportunities for creating value and translate imagination into action to exploit those opportunities.

For more information on the lecture, contact Dr. Roger Collier, interim dean of the College of Business and Technology, at 918-444-2910 or Peggy Glenn, executive director of the NSU Foundation at 918-444-4207.
