The Northeastern State University Office of Leadership and Community Involvement is sponsoring Food Basket Frenzy and donations are needed to provide families with a holiday meal.
The group plans to offer 125 food baskets to families in need. Baskets can be sponsored for $30 and will include ham, stuffing and non-perishable items for a Thanksgiving dinner.
Cash and non-perishable food donations are being accepted through Friday, Nov. 19, in the Student Activities office, which is located in the basement of the University Center at NSU. Any amount will be accepted to help reach their goal.
Time can also be donated. Volunteers will be putting baskets together on Nov. 17-18 in the North Leoser Lounge at NSU from 5-8 p.m. On Friday, volunteers are also needed to deliver the baskets to Tahlequah schools. Interested parties can meet in the University Center basement at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 19, and delivering will last from 3-5 p.m.
