NSU's Freshmen Connections Welcomes Students to Campus Life
Published: 2010-08-06
Incoming freshmen at Northeastern State University will begin their college experience by attending Freshmen Connections on Aug. 12-13.
Freshmen Connections is a premier two-day orientation program designed to give NSU's new freshmen a jump-start on their first semester.
"We will familiarize them with their new campus home while connecting them to the faculty, staff and upperclassmen that will help shape their academic careers," said Jeff Walker, director of First Year Experience. "It is a great opportunity for freshmen to ease their jitters via a trial run before their actual classes begin."
Freshmen Connections runs 9 a.m. 4 p.m. each day and both days must be attended fully for credit in University Strategies.
"This orientation program is inextricably connected to the University Strategies course that all new freshmen must enroll in and complete in their first semester at NSU," said Walker.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. on Aug. 12 under the tent at Beta Field in front of Seminary Hall and Centennial Plaza. Attendees must bring their NSU student IDs.
