NSU’s College of Liberal Arts presents a film screening

(Tahlequah, Okla.)-- Northeastern State Universitys College of Liberal Arts is hosting a film screening of 7th Generation onMarch 24 at 3:30 p.m. in the Webb Auditorium on the Tahlequah campus, with a question and answer session with filmmaker Jim E. Warne afterward.
7th Generation covers many years of history and includes the perspectives of filmmaker and Oglala Lakota tribe member, Warne. Some topics of the film include Wounded Knee, Indian policies, boarding schools, and Crazy Horse.
How do we empower our youth to stay Indian, to keep their tribal heart and perspective, yet go out and learn the contemporary American system and still be Indian at heart? Warne said in describing the message of his film.
Warne is not only a filmmaker, he also works with various government agencies and tribal nations, is a former professional football player, an actor, and is a motivational speaker. He received the National Indian Gaming Associations Chairmans Leadership Award in 2009 and his film 7th Generation won the 2016 Inspirational Film Award at the Documentary Film Cinema on the Bayou Film Festival.
Warne will also share his experiences in the film making industry with NSU students onMarch 23when he will be working with Arts Management students as part of a workshop.
