NSU reminds students to complete FAFSA for Summer, Fall

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - Northeastern State University reminds students that it is time to complete their Free Application for Student Aid by June 30, 2024 for the 2023-24 award year and June 30, 2025 for the 2024-25 school year.

NSU will begin issuing financial aid offers to prospective and current students from late April through early May.

In late December 2023, the Department of Education released a new form known as A Better 2024-25 FAFSA. Since the release, NSU financial aid advisors and professionals have been working diligently to navigate and streamline the new challenges and opportunities it presents.

“We take immense pride in our commitment to serving first-generation and underserved populations,” NSU President Rodney Hanley said. “By providing robust support and resources, we aim to make the decision to attend NSU easy and transformative. The FAFSA is an essential part of that process.”

In 2020-21, 89% of NSU undergraduate students received financial aid. All students, including those who think they might not qualify for financial aid, are encouraged to complete their FAFSA as it is required for all federal grants, work study jobs and additional financial aid support.

Students who have not yet completed their FAFSA can do so at studentaid.gov. Applicants should include NSU’s Federal School code of 003161 to release their information to Northeastern State University.

Summer classes at NSU are scheduled to begin June 3, with the fall semester beginning August 19.
