Published: 2010-12-20
In celebration of Northeastern State University's Founders Day 2011, the university will add 10 names to its list of NSU Centurions.
An annual tradition established during the 2009 Centennial Founders Day Celebration, the Centurion honor is given to members of the NSU family alumni, faculty, staff and students, whether past or present who impacted the life of the nominator, the Northeastern community or the public at large.
Adapted from the word "centurion," the commander of a century or 100 men in the Roman army, the NSU Centurion is an individual whose leadership and commitment, in the course of helping others, has make a significant impact during the university's history.
All are invited to make a nomination. The nominee may be living or deceased and should embody the legacy of NSU.To submit a nomination, visit the Centurion nomination page and fill out the form. Nominations must be submitted by Jan. 14, 2011.
NSU's 10 newest Centurions will be named in February and honored during a special luncheon in March. Details of the luncheon will be announced with the Centurions' names.
