RMERA conference begins Oct. 28 at NSUBA

The 41st annual conference of the Rocky Mountain Educational Research Association, "People, Place and Research Matter," will be at Northeastern State University-Broken Arrow in Building G on Oct. 28-29.

The event will engage researchers, educators and students in conversations about educational research. Listening to the expert viewpoints of the presenters, attendants will have the opportunity to network with colleagues from across the nation and around the world.

Presentations include: "People & Place Matter: Balancing Data Driven and Wisdom Driven Decision Making: Cross-Cultural, Cross-Generational Perspectives," by Carl Farinelli of Northeastern State University, "Urban Principal Leadership Skill Proficiency And Student Achievement," by Sue Erwin and Pam Winn of Tarleton State University, "The Relationship of Superintendents' Salaries to Various Aspects of Their Districts," by Ken Hancock and Steve Schwab of Northeastern State University, "The Transition of Middle School Students into High School," by Aric Sappington, Malinda Hendricks Green, Jennifer J. R. Endicott and Susan C. Scott of University of Central Oklahoma and "Traumatic Loss and Natural Disaster: A Case Study of a School-based Response to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita," by Stacey Clettenberg of DePelchin Childrens Center in Houston, Texas, among several others.

Many NSU faculty, staff and administration will present at the conference, including Anita Ede, Denise DaRos-Voseles, Martin Tadlock, Carl Farinelli, Joseph M. Faulds, Ron Cambiano, Martha Parrott, Constance Cassity, Barbara Ray, Jennifer Peterson, Paula Schornick, Kenneth Hancock and Steve Schwab.

RMERA was founded 40 years ago as a regional chapter of the American Education Research Association. Like AERA, its goal is to improve education by promoting educational research and the practical application of research results.

Registration begins Thursday, October 28 at 8:30 a.m. and the first session begins at 9 a.m. Early registration is closed, but interested parties may register at the door for the full conference for $90, which includes conference, reception, activities and proceedings.
