The tallies are in and the points have been counted. The winner of Northeastern State University's Extreme Housing Makeover for Fall 2010 is South Leoser.
EHM is a contest between residence halls where students accumulate points for their hall by attending programs organized by hall staff. South Leoser eliminated the competition and captured the victory by roughly 200 points.
As a reward for their hard work, South Leoser residents will get a newly renovated lounge. The lounge will be designed and crafted by Michele Seymour form Spaces, Design & Architecture in Muskogee.
"The renovations will begin in about three weeks," said Randy Shelton, directory of Auxiliary Services. "The things like plumbing, electric, heating and air will be done first before the things like paint and carpet."
The contest allows students to make an enduring physical improvement to the campus, while bonding with their neighbors at residence hall events.
Competition for EHM began the first day the halls were open and ran until Oct. 17. The renovated lounge will be revealed Jan. 31, 2011.
