FreeWheelers to Get Sneak Peek at Summer Series

The Northeastern State University Summer Series will be taking a break from rehearsals to entertain the participants of Oklahoma FreeWheel on Wednesday, June 14, at the NSU Jazz Lab. River City Players will give a sneak peak at 3 p.m., and Downtown Country will give a sneak peak at 4 p.m. Donations are greatly appreciated.

Members of the community are invited to come out and see what makes River City Players and Downtown Country A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Rock N Roll, A Whole Lotta Fun.

We greatly appreciate NSU for providing quality entertainment to our FreeWheel participants, said David Moore, executive director of the Tahlequah Area Chamber of Commerce and coordinator for the local Free Wheel event. Downtown Country and River City Players continually provides quality entertainment in Tahlequah each summer.

The Oklahoma FreeWheel is an annual weeklong cross-state bicycle ride occurring in early June. Approximately 1,000 riders attend each year. They stay overnight in small communities and ride an average of 60 miles each day.

Our performers are excited about this preview show to get the community revved up for the summer season, said Megan White, director of The Sequoyah Institute.

After getting a taste of what the NSU Summer Series has to offer, community members can make reservations for the opening on June 22. For those that cant make opening weekend, shows run every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights through August 5. For reservations, contact the Summer Box Office at 918-458-2075. Ticket prices are $12 for adults, $10 for NSU alumni and employees, $8 for seniors, and $6 for children, students and groups of 20 or more. Or ask about the Summer Pass for the best deal of the summer.
