TTCU presents donation check during NSU opening meeting

Published: 2010-08-13

During the Fall 2010 Opening Meeting at Northeastern State University on August 11, Tulsa Teachers Credit Union presented a check for $2,372.30 to NSU.

The award was an accumulation of donations made by TTCU through its School Pride Visa Check Card program. Each transaction conducted with NSU employee check cards resulted in a donation.

"We donate money to NSU every time employees swipe their NSU check cards," said Doug Aldrich, chief operations officer for TTCU. "When using their check cards, they basically donate to the school."

Aldrich said NSU's check card donations have nearly tripled since the program's implementation.

"When we first started this program we did 41,000 transactions the first six months of 2008," he said. "Through the first six months of 2010, we did a little under 119,000 transactions."

The presentation was made to NSU President Don Betz by Georgia Steele, TTCU director of member education, and Aldrich.
