Area Students 'Collect' Tuition Waiver Cash at Redmen Rally

TAHLEQUAH Nine local students collected tuition waiver cash during the 2003 Redmen Rally held at Northeastern State University. NSU's Office of High School and College Relations drew upwards of 700 prospective students and guests to their fall 2003 event.

Themed 'Right Here, Right Now,' for 2003, the fall event is a popular method of Redmen recruitment that is open to high school seniors (and others) wishing to plan for their future.

The rally included campus tours, a free lunch, presentations on scholarships and majors, live entertainment, and free admission to the Redmen/SWOSU football game.

This year, nine students were randomly selected at registration to participate in a new activity - the NSU Money Machine. Each student had 30 seconds in the money machine to collect as much tuition waiver money and area merchant coupons as they could. Students who won tuition money must meet NSU eligibility and, after meeting those stipulations, can use the funds toward the fall semester of their freshmen year at Northeastern. More than $4,700 was collected. The following students collected tuition waivers to use toward their first year at NSU.
