NSU names Williamson coordinator of athletic development

Published: 2010-08-03

Rylee Williamson, a 2010 graduate of Northeastern State University, has been named coordinator of athletic development and senior women administrator at NSU. Williamson, who joined the staff on July 5, will focus on fundraising for NSU Athletics.

"I wanted to stay in Tahlequah and thought landing a job at NSU would be ideal," said Williamson. "Joining the athletics department and working on fundraising and game-day activities fell into my degree discipline. It feels great to use what I learned in school and work
for my alma mater."

One fundraising project Williamson is assisting with is the proposal for a multipurpose arena.

"Being an event management major and knowing that we can bring in trade shows, events, concerts and have teams visit makes me excited about my future here and what I can do for NSU," she said.

Williamson has served several internships with the event team of Hilti North America, a Liechtenstein-based manufacturing company with its North American division headquartered in Tulsa. While completing her associate's degree, she worked as an assistant to the middle school ministry director at a Tulsa church.

Williamson earned a bachelor's degree in hospitality and tourism management from NSU in May. She also holds an associate's degree in business from Tulsa Community College. She is a 2006 graduate of Broken Arrow High School.
