Huddle up with NSU Football at the NSU Backers Blitz Tour

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – The Northeastern State RiverHawks will hold their last two stops of the NSU Backers Blitz Tour in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, to gain support for the NSU Backers program.

The NSU Backers program was first announced in January 2024 by John Sisemore, NSU Director of Athletics. The program was created to garner funds to support the NSU Football Program and its players. Through the program, NSU supporters and alumni can fund football equipment purchases, player recruitment and further coaching for current players.

NSU Backers was founded on four principles: recruitment, retention, development and graduation. From recruitment to graduation, these principles focus on all phases of a player’s time at NSU. Furthermore, the program not only focuses on honing the physical skills of players but also their academic skills by emphasizing responsibility and schoolwork.

At the events, attendees will have the opportunity to meet NSU Football coaching staff, learn about the 2025 football team signees and connect with NSU alumni. The events will also cover vital information regarding the program such as what the donations will be spent on, how the Backers subscription and incentives work and the donation goal for 2025.

Additionally, attendees will be shown the improvements the NSU Football program has had in the past year after the Backers program was established. Attendees will also learn about the additional programs that are tied to the NSU Backers and receive a preview of the 2025 football season.

The third stop of the tour will be held on July 18 at the First Americans Museum in Oklahoma City. Following this, the fourth and final stop will be held on July 19 at 4 p.m. at the NSU-Broken Arrow campus.

Both tours are free and open to the public and will include complimentary hors d'oeuvres.
