TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — Northeastern State University’s Sequoyah Institute will feature Northwest Arkansas blues ensemble Brick Fields on Jan. 18.

Based in Northwest Arkansas, Brick Fields is a mesmerizing blues and roots group led by the dynamic duo Rachel Fields and Larry Brick. Alongside them are drummer Kevin Bonner, bassist Jason Young, guitarist Christopher Parker and saxophonist Hunter Judkins. Their performances resonate deeply, merging classic blues with gospel, folk and R&B.

Having released several well-received albums and gaining acclaim for their energetic live shows, Brick Fields has firmly established itself in the regional music arena, winning over both fans and critics. Their melodies reflect themes of love, hope and resilience, making their concerts a must-see for those passionate about genuine, soul-stirring music.

Brick Fields will perform as part of the 2023-2024 Sequoyah Institute Performing Arts Series. The series aims to foster cultural enrichment beyond the classroom and promotes the experience and understanding of the fine arts through the presentation of national and international performing artists to students and the community.

All Sequoyah Institute performances will be held at the NSU Playhouse at 7:30 p.m. on their respective dates. Admission is free for NSU students and $20 for adults, $18 for seniors, $16 for NSU alumni and employees and $12 for youth.
