NSU to host cybersecurity camp for youth – July 7-8, 2025

Northeastern State University to host cybersecurity camp for youth – July 7-8, 2025

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Northeastern State University is bringing a hands-on cybersecurity camp for middle school-aged students to the Tulsa area. The two-day camp will be held on the NSU-Broken Arrow campus and is being offered free of charge to students grade 6-8.

Campers will learn from industry professionals and experienced educators about the importance of cybersecurity, effective communication in a rapidly evolving digital world and foundational concepts in coding and encoding.

“One of the most powerful elements behind the NSU Summer Academy cybersecurity camp is the strong network of partnerships fueling its growth and impact,” Dr. Eloy Chávez, Dean of the College of Extended Learning, said. “Central to this effort is Northeastern’s collaboration with the NSU Cyber Security Clinic and the Oklahoma Cyber Innovation Institute at the University of Tulsa, which provided support for the camp allowing students to attend for free.”

Students interested in studying cybersecurity or gaining skills needed to succeed in related fields are encouraged to apply.

Participants must bring their own lunch. Camp will begin July 7 and will run daily from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
