Melles to deliver Dr. Isabel Baker Memorial Lecture in Women’s Studies – March 10
TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Dr. Elizabeth Melles is scheduled to deliver the Dr. Isabel Baker Memorial Lecture in Women’s Studies at Northeastern State University on Monday, March 10.
Melles currently serves as chair of the NSU Department of Psychology and Counseling and will present on “Interwoven Threads: Integrating Motherhood, Scholarship and Practice” on March 10 at 3:30 p.m. in the Webb Building Auditorium.
Her presentation will focus on embracing the interconnected roles of the professional woman, normalizing postpartum intrusive thoughts and opening up conversations about shame and motherhood.
The presentation is free and open to the public.
About the lecture
The Dr. Isabel Baker Memorial Lecture in Women’s Studies was established in May 2021 and is sponsored by the NSU Center for Women’s Studies. The objective of the lecture is to highlight NSU faculty doing research on women, and to honor Dr. Isabel Baker and her legacy as an educator and champion of women.
