NSU Theatre Company hosts its 2016 nXnsu film festival

(Tahlequah, Okla.)-- Northeastern State Universitys Theatre Company hosts its 2016 North by Northeastern Festival of Theatre and Film from April 13 through April 16. During these days, pre-selected one-act plays and short films will be screened in the University Playhouse. Each days screening will end with a performance of the play Doubt: A Parable which is directed by Scott Pursley, assistant professor and technical director of NSU Theatre Company. The plays cast includes professors Christopher Miller and Dr. Robyn Pursley along with NSU students Lyndie Benton and Jeran McGill.

Film pieces screened during the festival will be student creations that fit these criterion: filmmakers must be enrolled high school students or enrolled undergraduate students at a university or college in the United States and all films must be new and original work created within the last calendar year and films can be no longer than 6 minutes in duration.

Scott Pursley shared his excitement about entries that are already submitted.

So far we have had 57 film submissions from the all over the world including the United States, Russia, Jordan, United Kingdom and more.

Entries will be judged on originality and uniqueness, technical aspects, execution, and audience appeal. Entrants will be notified by email if their film is selected for the festival by 5 p.m. on March 25.
