NSU announces Spring 2026 SOAR registration for incoming students

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. –  Northeastern State University has opened registration for the Spring 2026 Student Orientation, Advising and Registration program—a free, one-day event designed for recently admitted freshmen and transfer students.

SOAR provides students with the guidance and resources needed to succeed at NSU. The orientation helps new RiverHawks transition smoothly to college life while connecting them with peers, faculty and staff who are invested in their success.

NSU-Tahlequah will host its Spring 2026 SOAR on Nov. 18 and Dec. 3 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a complimentary lunch provided.

“SOAR embodies NSU’s values and goals by focusing on Our People, Our Place and Our Purpose,” Dr. Kendra Haggard, director of Student Engagement and Transitions, said. “We want to help our students succeed and know they belong here. SOAR shows students that they will have a support system at NSU.”

For NSU President Rodney Hanley, SOAR reflects the university’s deep commitment to student success and community. “At NSU, we believe every student’s journey matters,” Hanley said. “SOAR introduces new RiverHawks to a community that celebrates who they are and supports who they will become. It’s the beginning of a lifelong connection to Our People, Our Place and Our Purpose.”

Students attending SOAR will:

·         Meet with academic advisors and register for spring classes

·         Learn about campus life, financial aid, and student success resources

·         Connect with other new students and current NSU leaders

·         Receive their NSU student ID and technology setup assistance
