NSU Greek Sing returns with music and mission – March 12

Northeastern State University Greek Sing returns with music and mission – March 12

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Northeastern State University (NSU) will present Greek Sing, a student-led philanthropic fundraiser featuring live musical performances by campus fraternities and sororities on March 12 at the NSU Center for the Performing Arts. The annual competition raises funds for a selected cause while showcasing the creativity and talent of NSU’s Greek community.

Established in 2010, Greek Sing continues to bring together NSU’s Greek organizations for an evening of friendly competition and service. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Feed My Sheep, a local nonprofit that serves warm, restaurant-style meals with dignity to community members in need.

The theme for this year’s Greek Sing is “As Seen on TV,” with participating groups performing songs inspired by television shows and commercials.

Katie Cochran, NSU associate director of student engagement, said organizers chose Feed My Sheep because of the organization’s dedication to serving the Tahlequah community.

“We heard about the amazing work Feed My Sheep was doing by feeding the community every night during the government shutdown,” Cochran said. “The directors felt it was really important to support a local organization that gives back so much to our community.”

NSU President Rodney Hanley said the event reflects the university’s commitment to service and student leadership.

“Greek Sing highlights the creativity, collaboration and generosity of our students,” Hanley said. “Through events like this, our Greek organizations are not only entertaining the community but also supporting important local efforts that help meet real needs. We are proud to see our students using their talents to serve others.”

Community members are invited to attend, cheer on their favorite performance and support a meaningful cause.

Greek Sing will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Center for the Performing Arts (CPA). Advance tickets are available for $5 and will be $10 on the day of the event. Tickets can be purchased and picked up at the NSU Office of Student Engagement on the Tahlequah campus.
