Northeastern State University hosts BSN Program Open House Events
TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — Northeastern State University’s Department of Nursing will host a series of open house events for prospective students interested in the new Pre-Licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, launching this fall. The events will provide students with an opportunity to learn more about the program and its role in helping meet Oklahoma’s growing demand for registered nurses.
Each open house will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on NSU’s Tahlequah campus in the Science Building, Room SC 146, on the following dates: March 12 and April 2, 2026.
Attendance at one open house event is required for all prospective applicants to be eligible to apply to the Pre-Licensure BSN program.
“NSU has a long-standing legacy of preparing exceptional nursing professionals who serve communities across our state,” NSU President Rodney Hanley said. “These open house events allow students to see how our new BSN program builds on that legacy while addressing Oklahoma’s healthcare needs.”
During the open house, attendees will receive information about the BSN curriculum, admissions requirements, clinical experiences and student support services. Participants will also have the opportunity to meet nursing faculty, tour facilities and explore pathways to a rewarding career in nursing.
“This program opens the door for more students to enter a profession that truly changes lives,” Dr. Heather Fenton, director of nursing programs, said. “The open house helps prospective students better understand our expectations, our support systems and how we are preparing nurses to succeed in today’s healthcare environment.”
Graduates of the Pre-Licensure BSN program will be eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).
For more than 40 years, Northeastern State University has been a leader in nursing education, offering innovative programs that prepare graduates to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across diverse healthcare settings. The new Pre-Licensure BSN program builds on that foundation with rigorous coursework, hands-on clinical training and a supportive learning environment.
Applications for the Fall 2026 cohort are open through April 15, 2026. To learn more about the Pre-Licensure BSN program, register for an upcoming open house or to apply, visit nsuok.edu/nursing.
Space is limited for each open house, and advance registration is required.
