Tahlequah, Okla. – Northeastern State University has earned national recognition from Washington Monthly, which placed the university at No. 12 on its 2025 list of the nation’s top master’s universities.

This ranking highlights NSU’s success in combining rigorous academics with strong student support—resulting in outcomes that exceed expectations. The university’s placement among the top 15 nationwide underscores its commitment to preparing graduates for advanced careers and continued study while fostering leadership, service and civic engagement.

Unlike traditional rankings that emphasize exclusivity, Washington Monthly evaluates universities by the contributions they make to society. NSU’s recognition reflects its tireless pursuit to create opportunity, encourage participation and empower graduates to make a difference locally and nationally.
