NSU to host Domestic Violence Awareness Glow Walk – Oct. 21

Northeastern State University to host Domestic Violence Awareness Glow Walk – Oct. 21

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Northeastern State University ResponsibleHawks and Help-In-Crisis invite community members to take part in the Glow Walk on Oct. 21, 2025, from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. outside Seminary Hall.

The Glow Walk is an evening of remembrance, awareness and solidarity while honoring survivors of domestic violence and remembering those whose lives were lost. Informational tables and interactive activities focused on domestic violence prevention and community resources will open at 6:30 p.m.

The event will begin with a brief program, followed by a symbolic walk illuminated by glow sticks– representing hope, resilience and the collective commitment to end domestic violence.

“At Northeastern State University, we believe in the power of community to bring light to even the darkest challenges,” NSU President Rodney Hanley said. “Events like the Glow Walk remind us that awareness is action — and together, we can stand with survivors, honor those we’ve lost, and continue building a culture of safety, respect and compassion.”

The event is free and open to the public. Participants are encouraged to wear purple and/or bring additional glow items to show their support.
