U.S. News includes Northeastern State University in 2025 Best Colleges list
NSU ranked No. 1 in Okla. for Top Public Schools, No. 1 In Okla. for Best Value Universities (West) and No. 2 in Okla. for Best Regional Universities (West)
TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Northeastern State University received several rankings on the 2025 Best Colleges List, according to an annual report by USNews.com
NSU was listed on the website’s U.S. News & World Report 2025 Best Colleges list, in three categories: Regional Universities (West), Top Public Schools – Regional Universities (West) and Best Value Universities (West). NSU was in the top three universities in Oklahoma in all categories.
“At NSU, we are committed to providing an affordable, high-quality education that equips our students with the tools they need to succeed in an ever-changing world,” NSU President Rodney Hanley said. “Recognitions like these are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our faculty and staff.”
NSU was recognized in several categories which were evaluated with institutions all over the nation. The categories include:
Best Value Universities (West) -- #22 | Ranked No. 1 in Oklahoma
Top Public Schools – Regional Universities (West) – #30 |Ranked No. 1 in Oklahoma
Regional Universities (West) – #58 | Ranked No. 2 in Oklahoma
According to USNews.com, to be considered for the Best Colleges list, institutions must excel in areas such as value, social mobility, teaching, veterans’ needs, HBCUs and in six academic disciplines: Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Nursing, Economics and Psychology.
