TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — Northeastern State University’s Communications & Marketing team earned a prestigious honor at the 2025 American Advertising Awards, securing a bronze award in the direct marketing – specialty advertising – other merchandise category.
This year’s competition saw over 40 entrants submit entries in nearly 100 professional categories. NSU’s entry, the President’s Challenge Coin, stood out to judges, making the university the only higher education institution to compete and place alongside leading corporate ad agencies, marketing firms, organizations and businesses from the Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Wichita Falls, Texas areas.
“This recognition underscores the talent and dedication of our creative team,” Dr. Dan Mabery, NSU vice president for university relations, said. “To be judged alongside top industry professionals and emerge as an award recipient speaks volumes about the quality of work we produce at NSU.”
The gold award in this category went on to win Best in Show for the entire competition, highlighting the high caliber of entries.
The American Advertising Awards, hosted locally by AAF Oklahoma, is the industry’s largest and most prestigious competition, attracting more than 40,000 entries nationwide. Winners progress from the local level to district and national competitions, showcasing top-tier creative talent across the country.
