NSU online degree programs receive top rankings for 2025

NSU online degree programs receive top rankings for 2025 from U.S. News & World Report

NSU ranked No. 1 in Oklahoma for Best Online Bachelor's Programs for Veterans,

No. 3 in Oklahoma for Best Online Bachelor's Programs and Best Online Bachelor's in Business Programs

TAHLEQUAH, Okla.  – Northeastern State University received several top rankings by USNews.com including a top overall rank for the institution’s Online Bachelor’s Programs and a new ranking as one of the Best Online Bachelor's Programs for Veterans in Oklahoma.

“NSU remains committed to providing affordable, high-quality education delivered in a flexible, online format to our students,” NSU President Rodney Hanley, said. “This flexibility affords our students from non-traditional backgrounds the ability to balance work, school and other responsibilities. We are especially proud of receiving recognition for our dedication to serving the educational needs of veterans.”

NSU was recognized in multiple categories, which were evaluated with institutions from across the nation based on a variety of factors, such as student engagement, faculty credentials and services and technologies. The categories include:

  • Best Online Bachelor's Programs for Veterans | Ranked No. 1 in Oklahoma
  • Overall Rank - Best Online Bachelor's Programs | Ranked No. 3 in Oklahoma
  • Best Online Bachelor's in Business Programs | Ranked No. 3 in Oklahoma

According to U.S. News & World Report, U.S. News Best Online Programs, which is in its 13th year of being published, is designed for individuals looking to complete or further their education. This year's edition evaluates more than 1,600 online bachelor's and master's degree programs using metrics that are specific to online learning. The rankings include degree-granting programs offered primarily online by regionally accredited institutions. 

Managing Editor for Education at U.S. News, LaMont Jones, said access to accurate and up-to-date information about online programs is important for prospective students and professionals as they choose a program that aligns with their educational and career goals. He added that through the evaluation of factors such as student engagement, faculty credentials and training as well as overall program quality, Best Online Programs rankings can assist students in identifying institutions that offer an exceptional online learning experience.
