NSU offers organizational leadership classes through Reach Higher program for working adults
TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — Northeastern State University continues to upscale the adult workforce with their Reach Higher FlexFinish program designed for working adults hoping to complete their degrees.
The program addresses the unique challenges faced by adult learners, providing a flexible and accessible pathway to earn a bachelor’s degree. It is designed to help adults achieve their educational goals without compromising their professional and personal responsibilities.
“We understand the challenges faced by working adults who aspire to complete their education,” NSU President Rodney Hanley, said. “The program reflects our commitment to providing accessible and flexible learning opportunities, empowering individuals to advance their careers and achieve their educational aspirations.”
The FlexFinish bachelor’s program provides opportunities for students including online class options, eight-week classes and five enrollment periods per year. This allows individuals who have already started their careers to level up without ever having to compromise their incomes.
“What I love the most about working in the Reach Higher program is hearing about the sense of accomplishment that my students feel,” Michelle Farris, coordinator of adult degree completion at NSU, said. “Many are coming back to college after years of being out and when they finish their first class and they see they can do this, it is worth all of the effort.”
Farris said many of the students who complete their bachelor’s degree move on to master’s programs such as master of business administration or master of leadership.
“The students who benefit the most from the program are typically the ones who have already been promoted as far as they can without a degree,” Farris said. “This degree opens new doors for working adults to increase their earning potential.”
When students enroll for the program they receive personalized degree completion plans designed to work with their schedules. NSU also offers one of the lowest tuitions of any university in Oklahoma, allowing students to receive quality education at an affordable price.
