NSU PLC & Honors Scholarship deadline for incoming freshmen – Feb. 1

Northeastern State University PLC & Honors Scholarship deadline for incoming freshmen – Feb. 1

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Northeastern State University’s President’s Leadership Class Scholarship and Honors Scholarship applications are set to close on Feb. 1, 2025.

Both scholarships are only available to incoming freshmen who are enrolled in their first semester during summer or fall 2025. Interested students must be admitted to NSU by the scholarship deadline.

NSU’s Honors Program is a rigorous educational option for students who enjoy learning and being challenged academically. Students in the Honors Program work with distinguished faculty members and peers in enhanced courses allowing them to pursue independent research and participate in co-curricular cultural experiences.

Benefits of being an Honors Student include academic scholarships through the Academic Scholars, Baccalaureate Scholars or Northeastern Honors Scholars Programs, special Honors courses, enrichment activities, cultural events, field trips, faculty mentorship on individual research projects, Honors Scholar recognition at graduation and designation on their transcript.

The President’s Leadership Class consists of a group of freshmen who are selected after a rigorous review of their leadership and service activities, awards, academic transcript and college entrance exam scores, letters of recommendation and an in-person interview by PLC alumni, staff and the NSU Foundation’s board chair.

PLC members are developed into leaders on campus and participate in student organizations and extracurricular activities, while maintaining a 3.25 grade point average while at NSU.

In addition to a four-year scholarship, graduating PLC seniors will receive an all-expense paid trip led by NSU President Rodney Hanley. This past year, graduating PLC seniors traveled to Washington, D.C. to tour the halls of Congress and the White House, explore the Smithsonian museums and the Library of Congress, visit Ford’s Theater and various national monuments.
