Tahlequah, Okla. – Northeastern State University has been recognized by Washington Monthly as the top-ranked university in Oklahoma in its 2025 “Best Colleges for Your Tuition (and Tax) Dollars” list. NSU placed No. 59 nationally.

The ranking highlights NSU’s exceptional value, balancing affordability with student success. Washington Monthly evaluates colleges based on access, affordability, graduate outcomes and contributions to society—areas where NSU continues to excel.
