Registration now open for NSU Summer Youth Academy Camps
TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Registration is now open for Northeastern State University’s (NSU) Summer Youth Academy Camps, which begin June 1, 2026. The camps offer students opportunities to explore robotics, STEM, biology and other subjects through engaging summer activities on the Tahlequah and Broken Arrow campuses.
“These 2026 Summer Youth Academy programs reflect NSU’s dedication to cultivating talent, confidence and lifelong learning,” Eloy Chavez, dean of the College of Extended Learning and Continuing Education, said. “It’s all about summer learning through fun and engaging activities for our future leaders.”
Several camps begin on June 1 for both campuses.
On the Tahlequah campus, STEAM Academies for students in grades 1–6 will be held June 1–12 from 8 a.m. to noon. The Math and More camp runs June 1–5, followed by Rock and Roll Adventure June 8–12. Each costs $70.
The Robotics for Young Scientists and Engineers Academy, a free camp for students in grades 8–12, will take place June 8–12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., giving participants the chance to design, build and code robotic vehicles.
Drone-focused camps will follow later in the summer. The Drone Discover Academy for grades 3–6 will be held June 29–July 3 from 8:30 a.m. to noon, and the Drone Innovators Academy will run July 6–10 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Drone Discover costs $70 and Drone Innovators costs $120. The free Drone Xperience Summer Day Academy for students in grades 8–12 will be held July 20–24 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
On the Broken Arrow campus, the College of Education Summer Youth Academy will run June 1–26 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The $150 program offers a variety of STEM and science-focused camps for children ages 4–12.
Also beginning June 1 in Broken Arrow are two free camps for students in grades 9–12: Get Green for Blue from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the Community Emergency Response Team Youth Day Camp from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The See My Ability Camp, a free arts program for individuals with disabilities ages 12–25, will be held June 9–12 and introduces participants to visual arts, dance, theater and music.
Later in the month, the Kinesiology Camp for high school students will take place June 23–24 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and costs $75. Camp Biomed, a free camp for students in grades 8–10, will follow June 24–28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“Summer is a time for exploration and growth,” NSU President Rodney Hanley said. “Through our youth camps, NSU is committed to offering dynamic programs that keep young learners engaged, encourage teamwork and introduce them to new ideas in an exciting campus setting.”
