NSU’s Rookie Bridge Camp give incoming students a head start to their college experience

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - Northeastern State University’s Rookie Bridge Camp returns August 5 to give incoming freshmen and transfers the opportunity to start their journey to higher education off on the right foot.

Held in two sessions at the beginning of August, RBC’s goal is to allow incoming freshmen and transfer students to learn more about the school, get comfortable with their surroundings and meet other students on campus before the semester begins.

“Rookie Bridge Camp is important for incoming freshmen and transfer students because it connects them to both incoming and current students,” Dr. Kendra Haggard, NSU Director of Student Engagement and Transitions, said. “It is vital for students to feel connected to the NSU community and feel a sense of belonging. RBC creates a family atmosphere through the connections that are made.”

Participants can expect games, group activities, programs and the opportunity to create friendships that last a lifetime.

Rookie Bridge Camp 2024 costs $75 per person and students can pick from one of two sessions - Camp 1 from Aug. 5-6 of Camp 2 from Aug. 8-9.
