Using Assets | CMS Knowledge Base

Using Assets

Assets are reusable pieces of content that can be placed on multiple pages across the website. When an Asset is updated and published, the changes automatically appear everywhere the Asset is used.

Assets are typically used for content that needs to stay consistent across pages, such as banners, notices, or shared information.

  1. Edit the content region
    • Click the green Edit button in the region where the asset will appear.
  2. Insert an Asset
    • Click the Insert Asset icon (cycling arrows).
  3. Select the Asset
    • In the Select Asset window, click the name of the asset you want to use.
    • You may filter assets by tag, type, or name.
  4. Click Insert
    • The asset will appear as a placeholder inside the editor.
  5. Preview the page
    • Assets display as striped placeholder boxes in the WYSIWYG editor.
    • Click Preview to see the actual asset content.
  6. Save and Publish
    • Click Save, then Publish (or submit for approval, if required).

Creating Assets is covered in Intermediate Training. Because Assets impact multiple pages across the website, they should only be created and managed by trained content managers.
