Northeastern State University’s online MBA ranks No. 11 among nation’s most affordable

30-credit-hour program offers nine areas of study and seven certificate options

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Northeastern State University’s (NSU) online Master of Business Administration (MBA) program has been ranked No. 11 among the nation’s most affordable online MBA programs by BSchools, a resource for prospective graduate business students.

The 30-credit-hour MBA is designed for working professionals and can be completed 100% online or at NSU-Broken Arrow. With total tuition and fees of less than $12,500, the program gives students the opportunity to earn a graduate business degree without putting their careers on hold.

Students can tailor the MBA to their career goals through nine areas of study: business analytics, digital marketing, environmental, health and safety management, general management, health informatics, healthcare administration, managerial accounting and finance, Native American enterprise and project management. Students can also choose from seven certificate options to build specialized skills alongside their degree.

The program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), a specialized accreditor for business education.

Dr. Athena Wooldridge, interim dean of the NSU College of Business & Technology, said affordability is one of the program’s strengths, but it is not the only reason students choose NSU.

“Affordability is certainly a strength of NSU's MBA, but what makes this recognition particularly important is that affordability does not come at the expense of quality,” Wooldridge said. “Our students learn from experienced faculty who bring academic expertise and professional experience into the classroom, and the program is designed around skills students can apply in their careers.”

For students balancing work, family and other responsibilities, the program provides an opportunity to continue building their education while remaining in the workforce.

“Providing an affordable online option removes some of the biggest barriers that can keep someone from pursuing a graduate degree,” Wooldridge said. “More importantly, the MBA can change what comes next for a student, helping them qualify for a promotion, move into leadership or become more competitive for opportunities that require a graduate degree. That's an important part of NSU's mission.”

“When a working adult earns their MBA at Northeastern State University, the impact extends beyond them, to their families, workplaces and communities,” said NSU President Rodney Hanley. “It’s why NSU is committed to making graduate education accessible, to create opportunities that strengthen the communities we serve.”
