Northeastern State University receives $7,500 from TTCU Federal Credit Union

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Northeastern State University (NSU) received a $7,500 donation Aug. 11 from TTCU Federal Credit Union through the credit union’s School Pride Program. Todd Matthews, vice president for Branch Operations at TTCU Federal Credit Union, presented the donation to NSU.

The School Pride Program was established to give back to local schools, including NSU. NSU has participated in the program since 2007 and has received $196,500 through the program.

TTCU account holders can select an NSU-branded debit card. Each time the card is used, a portion of the purchase is donated to NSU at the beginning of each fall and spring semester.

The latest donation will support professional development for NSU faculty and staff through the President’s Ambassadors Program, which provides funding for conference attendance, specialized training and on-campus workshops.

“This grant gives our faculty and staff the opportunity to continue learning, build their skills and bring new ideas back to the university,” Peggy Glenn, executive director of the NSU Foundation, said. “That investment ultimately benefits our students by helping our faculty and staff stay current in their fields and provide the best possible support in the classroom and across campus.”

Previous School Pride funding has supported Information Technology technician certification, literacy kits for Elementary Education training, professional development for department chairs, national conference attendance and workplace appreciation training for more than 100 staff members.

NSU President Rodney Hanley said the university has seen the benefit of TTCU’s support in a variety of areas over the years.

“For nearly 20 years, TTCU has found ways to support the people who make NSU a great place to learn and work,” Hanley said. “This latest gift will help our faculty and staff continue to grow professionally, and that investment comes back to our students and the quality of their NSU experience.”
