NSU to host open house and resource fair for new RiverHawks

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Northeastern State University (NSU) is proud to announce its upcoming Admitted Student Day, RiverHawk Hype, taking place on April 18, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on its Tahlequah campus. This signature event is designed to provide incoming students with a comprehensive introduction to the university experience, bridging the gap between acceptance and enrollment.

RiverHawk Hype offers an environment where admitted students can engage directly with faculty, current student leaders and administrative staff. The program is structured to help students finalize their transition to higher education through several ways:

Academic Exploration: Open houses hosted by NSU’s Academic Colleges will allow students to explore degree paths and career outcomes specific to their interests.

University Readiness: Specialized sessions will cover essential "next steps," including academic advising, class selection, scholarship opportunities and financial aid counseling.

Campus Life: To foster a sense of community, students can explore diverse extracurricular offerings such as Athletics, Esports, Honors programs, Greek Life and Study Abroad opportunities.

NSU President Rodney Hanley is excited to see future students taking steps toward achieving their higher education goals.

"The Northeastern State University community is committed to being a partner in every student’s journey from the moment they are admitted," Hanley said. "RiverHawk Hype is a pivotal opportunity for our newest students to take those first confident steps toward their academic goals.”

Brian Manley, director of Admissions and Recruitment, is eager to provide a positive and supportive presence for students in the middle of enrollment.

“RiverHawk Hype is an exciting event that gives students a clear pathway from interest to enrollment. It allows them to connect directly with our campus community, access key resources and feel confident in their decision to attend Northeastern State University,” Manley said. “Just as important, it allows us to celebrate each student as they officially begin their journey as a RiverHawk.

Registration for RiverHawk Hype is now open. For more information or to sign up, visit nsuok.edu/RiverHawkHype.
