Registration is now open for Fall 2026 SOAR program at Northeastern State University
TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Northeastern State University (NSU) is officially welcoming the Class of 2030 and incoming transfer students to begin their college experience. Registration is now open for the 2026 Student Orientation, Advising and Registration (SOAR) program.
SOAR is more than an orientation; it is a comprehensive full-day event designed to ease the transition into the RiverHawk family. The program ensures that every student is equipped with the tools needed to thrive from day one.
NSU President Rodney Hanley emphasized that SOAR provides the essential building blocks for student success.
“SOAR helps students feel connected before the semester even begins,” Hanley said. “It provides the guidance, resources and support that help our newest RiverHawks feel prepared to soar as they begin their journey at NSU.”
Students can choose from several dates across the Tahlequah and Broken Arrow campuses. Please note that certain dates are tailored for specific student groups.

Dr. Kendra Haggard, director of Student Engagement and Transitions, explained SOAR’s impact on first-time students.
“By providing a dedicated space for freshmen and transfers to finalize their registration, meet their peers and secure their resources all at once, we eliminate the logistical hurdles that often hinder a fresh start,” Haggard said. “SOAR empowers students to check every box in a single day, allowing them to shift their focus from 'getting ready' to truly belonging."
